Solid State Logic Launches UMD192 - The Most Powerful MADI & Dante Digital Audio Interface Available
Delivering 192 channels at both 96 and 48 kHz, or 128 channels at 192 kHz in a compact and portable half-rack form factor, the UMD192 is designed to excel in live sound, broadcast, and high-spec studio environments
Oxford, England, January 14, 2026 — Solid State Logic announces the UMD192, a powerful and portable USB audio interface designed to meet the demands of professional live sound, broadcast, and high-spec studio environments. With seamless integration across MADI, Dante, and USB protocols, the UMD192 delivers flexible routing possibilities, high channel counts, and uncompromising performance for recording, playback, and format bridging. Offering unprecedented power in a compact and portable form factor, the UMD192 is able to deliver 192 channels at both 96 and 48 kHz, or 128 channels at 192 kHz.
Featuring unmatched flexibility and robust connectivity, the UMD192 works reliably in both MAC and Windows environments, and compatible with any DAW. Whether it is used as a high-capacity interface or a format bridge, the UMD192 is the ultimate high-performance interface, keeping workflows streamlined and future ready.

The perfect bridge between USB, MADI and Dante
Built for versatility with ultra-high specifications, the UMD192 is able to support bi-directional audio between any two formats – MADI, Dante or USB – with the third format being able to receive a split feed. This makes it ideal for bridging multiple MADI-connected devices into a Dante network, or for high-channel-count recording and playback via USB 3.0.
On the network side, UMD192 delivers fully interoperable Dante AoIP with AES67 and ST 2110 (with DDM) support and ultra-low Dante latency reaching just 0.25 ms. The SSL UMD192 provides flexible clocking options from either MADI or Dante, and is able to cover sample rates from 44.1 to 192 kHz. Additionally, with its six MADI BNC pairs, the UMD192 can be configured in redundant mode, enabling three dual-redundant MADI connections to be provided for mission-critical broadcast and live workflows.

The all-in-one solution for live, broadcast and studio While the UMD192 is a natural fit for live sound environments, its versatility makes it equally valuable across a wide range of professional audio scenarios. From broadcast music recording and mixing—especially when paired with SSL System T—to high-channel-count studio sessions, the UMD192 delivers seamless integration and robust performance to suit almost any professional environment.
Its flexible interfacing compatibility makes it ideal for Harrison 32Classic systems with Dante, and a perfect match for SSL Oracle or ORIGIN consoles with Dante or MADI conversion. The UMD192 is a powerful solution for non-SSL console users working in live sound, broadcast, studio and post-production settings. The UMD192 offers unprecedented connectivity, format bridging and operational flexibility in a compact and portable half-rack form factor.
Intuitive front panel control and flexible power support
The UMD192 front panel delivers clear, high‑visibility indicators that provide real‑time feedback on signal flow, sample‑rate sync, power status, network connectivity and more, keeping the user in control in any production situation. Its front panel controls are locked by default to protect a user's predefined configurations, preventing accidental changes to settings.
From a power perspective, the UMD192 supports AC mains, Power over Ethernet (PoE), and USB, giving engineers flexible deployment options and the ability to build redundancy into their setups. Each power source can be used on its own or in combination for failover. For example, the AC input can be paired with a PoE injector to create a simple redundant power configuration when a PoE switch isn’t available.

Compatible with Mac and Windows
UMD192 is a class-compliant digital audio interface that operates natively with macOS Core Audio, with no additional drivers required. Users simply connect the unit, select SSL as the audio device in System Settings, and that's it. This provides the possibility for guest engineers to connect a Mac and begin work immediately, with no additional software installation required.
On Windows systems, the UMD192 requires the SSL ASIO driver, which is available as a free download from the Solid State Logic Support portal. These ASIO drivers are multi-client, enabling multiple ASIO applications to access the interface simultaneously.
